On Monday 23 November, the round table dedicated to New distribution channels will open the conference, with the participation of Enrique Costa (Avalon) and David Rodríguez (comScore), professors of the Master's Degree in Distribution and Business in Industry, and will be moderated by Agustina Lumi (Associate Producer in Nativa Contenidos and consultant in distribution and audience development). An activity open to the public through FICX.TV, in which the speakers will talk about new opportunities in film distribution and analyse the state of the box office in 2020.
On Tuesday 24th November at 12 noon, David Pérez Sañudo (director) and Katixa Silva (producer) will talk about their time at La Incubadora, a feature film development programme promoted by ECAM, and the importance that their participation in this initiative had in the different stages of development of their film Ane, which won an award at the last San Sebastian Film Festival and was recently released in cinemas all over the country. The activity will be broadcasted in an open way through FICX.TV.
Within the sessions that make up the FICX Pro | LAB programme, Gemma Vidal (Program manager of La Incubadora) will give that same afternoon a Workshop on project financing aimed at representatives of the selected works, and which will also be attended by students of the ECAM Master's in Distribution.
The collaboration between FICX and ECAM includes the presentation of two OpenECAM prizes, consisting of the possibility of using all the means available to the ECAM school (sets, materials, studies, technical equipment, etc.) free of charge, as long as they are available, as established by ECAM, and as long as they are used for the edition and/or post-production of the award-winning author's work presented as a work-in-progress in the context of the PUSH PLAY session or project in development within the FICX Pro | LAB programme. The award will be valid for 18 months from the closing date of the 58th FICX.
During the days of the festival, the ECAM will give an online course aimed at secondary and high school teachers in Asturias on "Experimental and documentary filmmaking as a teaching resource", which will take place on November 23, 24 and 25 in collaboration with the CPR of Gijón - Oriente.
The ECAM, Escuela de Cinematografía y del Audiovisual de la Comunidad de Madrid will once again be one of the collaborating institutions of the Gijón International Film Festival, with an outstanding presence at its conferences for professionals (FICX Pro) through different activities that will bring the participants of the film sector closer to proposals related to new distribution strategies, financing and production of projects, and initiatives to support the development of feature films.
